The Prevent

PreventTM
is an easy and friendly system to own. That's because every system
is operated by remote control. A simple press of your thumb from most
anywhere in your yard lets you activate one of four modes of operation,
The four modes listed below allow a high degree of flexibility - while
providing maximum protection - without sacrificing the pleasure and
enjoyment of owning a swimming pool. (For more details select a mode

Want to
relax alone on a pool-side lounge, swim by yourself, or do some yard
work? You can -- and PreventTM can help. Simply use the
walk-through mode. This mode allows you to break the laser beam and
enter the pool area without sounding an alarm. In 15 seconds the alarm
will automatically reset behind you. If a child breaks the beam while
you're not watching, an alarm will sound.
To
activate walk through mode: click the remote controller one time:
(1) lasers shut off, (2) green indicator light on transceiver flashes,
(3) alarm chirps every 3 seconds, (4) system resets in 15 seconds.

This
is one of the best safety features of PreventTM. Swim
mode allows you to enter and exit through the laser beam path for
a 30 minute period without sounding an alarm. Need more time? No
problem. Just activate another 30 minutes. When you're finished
swimming, reactivate the alarm. But if you forget, PreventTM
will help by automatically rearming when the 30-minute swim cycle
is finished.
To
activate swim mode: click the remote controller two times:
(1) lasers shut off, (2) green indicator light on transceiver flashes,
(3) alarm chirps every 5 minutes, (4) system resets in 30 minutes,
(5) chirps every 5 seconds of the last minute, to provide a rearming
warning.

This mode allows you to reset the alarm into normal operation.
When an alarm sounds it continues for three minutes. This gives
you time to check the pool to be sure all is safe and clear away
whatever caused the alarm to sound. (The alarm cannot be silenced
if the obstruction remains in the beam path.)
To activate reset
mode: click the remote controller three times:
(1) this cancels the alarm (2) immediately returns the system to
a functional mode

If
your system ever gets moved out of alignment, there is a simple
solution. Set up mode allows you to align the transceiver, mirrors
and reflectors without setting off the alarm or shutting off the
lasers. There is even a safety feature built into this mode. After
30 minutes PreventTM will automatically re-arm out of
set up mode. (This happen in case you activate set-up mode by accident
or forget to re-arm the alarm after alignment.)
To
activate set up mode: click the remote controller four times:
(1) lasers are on (2) alarm is silenced, (3) green indicator light
flashes
(4) alarm chirps every 5 minutes, (4) the system will re-arm in
30 minutes

PreventTM
is a perimeter alarm. The alarm sounds whenever an the invisible
laser beam path around a perimeter is broken at the height of the
beam. This technology is so flexible that it can be used to help
you guard many different types of perimeters in addition to swimming
pools.
Here are a few
ideas:
- child access to lakes, rivers, canals, swamps, woods, and more.
- trespasser access to yards, boats, construction sights, etc.
- keep business customers from entering off-limit areas

A complete
Preventtm system allows you to create a four-sided laser
barrier around a swimming pool. The transceiver (a) sends out two
laser beams. These beams can bounce off of a mirror (b) to change
the beam's direction. The beam then hits its final target, (c) a
reflector. This reflector (c) sends the beam back through it's path,
and back into the transceiver (a). A complete Preventtm
system includes:
a.
One Transceiver. (transmits and receives laser beams in two directions)
b. Two mirrors. (can be used to change the direction of a laser
beam path)
c. Two reflectors (must be used as the final target for each laser)
d. One remote controller (used to activate swim mode, set up mode,
etc.)
e. (not pictured) materials such as poles, pedestals, glues, fasteners,
etc.
(used to install and position the transceiver,
mirrors, and reflectors.)
f. (not pictured) power chord/adaptor (used to plug transceiver
into outlet)
